Robins' Nest is a social services agency, recently named as a top workplace by philly.com,  dedicated to the safety, support, and empowerment of children and families. With this in mind, we offer over 70 innovative support programs that give hope and provide healing to thousands of families throughout Southern New Jersey. We currently offer programs in the Integrated Health, Prevention, and Child Protection and Permanency sectors, and in 2017, served over 11,000 New Jersey residents. Our services directly benefit children, adolescents, adults, veterans, caregivers, older adults, and the community at large. Our services are offered in ten different New Jersey counties: Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, Mercer, Monmouth, Ocean, and Salem.

The Foster, Kinship and Adoption Counseling programs provide services to stabilize foster, adoptive and relative placements and enable caregivers to meet the unique needs of children who have been exposed to abuse/neglect and removed from their birth families. Services include Individual, Group and/or Family Therapy, Life Story/Life Book Work, Parent Support, Advocacy, Follow Up.

Therapists work with families in their home on a weekly basis to provide services in a supportive and educational manner, with consistency and continuity of care. Therapists are responsible for all documentation of services including assessments, progress notes and service plans. The primary service area will include Gloucester and Camden Counties.

Therapists receive weekly supervision designed to maximize professional development and client stability and success.

The therapist position requires a master's degree in Social Work, Counseling or related field.  LSW required for MSW applicants. 

The ideal therapist will have experience working with children and families.

Must have and maintain a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record, use of an insured vehicle.

To be successful a successful therapist you must be able to do the following duties and responsibilities:

1.  Function within agency's policies and procedures.

2.  Operate according to program requirements.

3.  Meet communication requirements.

4.  Meet supervision requirements.

5.  Meet client interaction requirements.

 
In addition, the therapist:

Must be able to demonstrate initiative, creativity, be dependable, reliable and work well independently.

Must be able to exercise independent thinking and good judgment under all circumstances.

Must be able to analyze work, set goals, develop plans and utilize time effectively and efficiently.

Must be able to see, speak and hear.  Frequently required to stand, sit, walk, bend, use hands and arms and must occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.

Must be sensitive, flexible and responsive to gender, race, ethnicity, socio-economic status, religion, age, sexual orientation or any other special needs as reflected in the ability to communicate with staff and/or clients.

Assume an active role in agency events.
